The farmers of the Rogue Valley Heritage Grain Project (RVHGP) have been carefully stewarding a seed library of 100+ varieties of heritage grains from around the world for five years.
We know these grains are biodiverse
We know these grains are nutrient dense
We know these grains are drought tolerant and climate resilient
We know these grains sequester carbon and build soil
But are they delicious?
Enter: Rogue Valley Heritage GRAIN DAY!
Sunday March 17 3-5 PM
Fry Family Farm Store, 2184 Ross Ln, Medford, OR 97501
We’re doing it again. Like last year, we’ll have over 20 varieties of heritage grains grown by the RVHGP. New this year, we’ve recruited a very talented cast of local chefs and bakers to produce a bigger variety of treats. Pastries to pizza to atole, all made with freshly milled, locally grown heritage grains. And bread of course!
So who’s this for?
If you work in the local grain economy, we want you there.
If you work with your hands in the dirt, dough, or masa, we want you there.
If you are an activist, organizer or community builder, working in local food systems, we want you there.
For grain, for culture, for diversity-
Chris & Jem with the Rogue Valley Heritage Grain Project
