Fry Family sought long & hard for a more environmentally friendly produce bag as a one way to reduce our impacts. Then, we found them, pleaded with our distributor to source them, waited for larger retailers to join the mission, & despite the energy & increased cost, we succeeded. These bags aren't perfect & undeniably different from our usual plastics, but with a little more understanding we hope they can work better for everyone! Crown Poly Compostable Bags are made from 100% vegetable starches & are certified for both commercial & HOME composting. The eco-friendly material allows the produce inside to breathe which prolongs storage life, keeping (most) fruits and vegetables fresh longer. However, these bags are NOT recommended for storing greens & we suggest transferring your salad mix, spinach, lettuce, etc. into another reusable container/bag for optimal freshness. Reuse these bags to line your compost bin since bags can go directly into your backyard compost heap & will decompose in 180 days (in proper compost conditions!) leaving no harmful residues behind. The translucent mint green color is an industry standard to indicate these are biodegradable. (BPI Certified, Vincotte OK Compost Home Certified, ASTM D-6400, FDA Approved, & Cedar Grove Accepted)
